A Little Bit about the Chiefs

Omaha Chiefs football is a family based, youth oriented sports organization designed to help build and shape today's young men and women into strong, considerate, contributing adult members of our community.  Coupled with your own family values our strong emphasis on education, participation, courtesy, and mental and physical preparedness help your youngsters feel a sense of community, and it helps them make the right decisions in their lives.  And along the way they get to learn the fundamentals of good football and develop lifelong friendships to boot!

Managed by an elected Board of Directors integral to both the day-to-day operation and long term viability of the Chiefs' organization, primary focus is on the safety and development of the youth.  All Board members have extensive experience working with the Chiefs and all persons working with the youth are subjected to background checks prior to being accepted into the program.

Omaha Chiefs is one of the oldest continuous youth sports organizations in the Omaha metropolitan area, now in the 43rd year. The Chiefs is first and foremost a family organization with many of today's coaches having played with the Chiefs in their youth; and many of our alumni return year after year to help with the Chiefs family.  We encourage everyone from the youngest to the oldest family member (and we have LOTS of grandparents as well) to participate in all aspects of the program.  Everyone in your family will benefit from the friendships made and the bonds created through your participation.

Family and coaches volunteer literally thousands of hours each season (and in the off-season) to insure the success of the Chiefs organization; the program would simply not be possible without that talent pool.  Equipment, uniforms, office supplies and heavy equipment and field maintenance requirements do, however, cost many thousands of $ each and every year.  To help cover those expenses we conduct fund raising events during the year; none of which are mandatory BUT earnings from those are what keep the program up and running!  That and donations from a handful of very generous local business owners.  So, we encourage everyone to help out in fund raising efforts, and they REALLY are more fun than anything you will see at your local PTA.
